Salpi-cow!

Let me share a not-so-secret dish.

Beef Salpicao is a Spanish favorite. Usually consisting of cooking chunks of beef in Worcestershire sauce and garlic, this recipe made its way to the Philippines during the Spanish colonization.

We usually have it for breakfast. And then Lunch. And dinner. HA! (So, make a lot!)

Beef Salpicao

  • Chunks of beef (raw, but cooked leftover beef works too!)
  • Olive Oil
  • Minced garlic (the more the merrier)
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Maggi Seasoning Sauce
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Butter

(As you should know by now, most of my recipes are done by taste. So, I apologize for the lack of measurements!)

  1. Season the chunks of beef with salt and pepper.
  2. Briefly sautée the garlic in the olive oil.
  3. Add the chunks of beef and cook till brown on all sides. Or if using leftover cooked meat, just heat it up a bit in the pan.
  4. Add the Worcestershire sauce and Maggi/Knorr seasoning to taste. (Center of meat will continue to cook during this process).
  5. Finish off with butter.
  6. Serve with rice or garlic rice. Possibly a fried egg as well.

One Response to “Salpi-cow!”

  1. Left over steak is best since it’s been previously seasoned or marinated.

Had this on a NY bagel with mayo. Awesome steak sandwich!
